I found this on the silhouette blog.
The Draw A Line tool is great when you are needing to draw horizontal, vertical, or diagonal lines.
Simply:
- Select the Draw A Line tool
- Move your cursor to the design page
- Click to begin the line
- Click to end the line
Holding down Shift on your keyboard while drawing will force a straight vertical, horizontal, or 45-degree diagonal line from the starting point.

As far as I can tell there really isn’t a way to edit the names of fonts. I would just make a list of which fonts you can use for commercial use on your computer or in a notebook. It would be nice if Silhouette would allow you to make different folders or lists of fonts, but I don’t know of any way to do this.
*If anyone in the group knows how to do this, please let us know!
Sizing will just depend on which planner you are using. A lot of the planners I make stickers for have the 1.5 width, so I just make sure that my scripts are 1.5 or lower. Hope this helps!

Courses.StickySituationsCo.comRachelKeymasterI hate when that happens. I’ve started using the notes app on my phone to make lists of ideas because if I don’t I forget them when it is time to design. LOL. Hoping you can remember all of your awesome ideas!

Courses.StickySituationsCo.comRachelKeymasterAre you in the line style panel? I’ve done this before not realizing that I am in the wrong fill panel. LOL. Make sure that you are in the panel with the artist palette. If that doesn’t work it could be that the icon you are using has an outline that is considered the fill of the icon. I know that there is a heart from Flaticon that does this and so I have to leave the middle white and let it fill the outline because the outline is considered the fill of that icon. Hopefully that makes sense.

Courses.StickySituationsCo.comRachelKeymasterit’s been several years since I used the removable matte paper but I remember it being super thin, so I would try a force of 3 to start out and see if that cuts it enough to peel up but not so much that it destroys the sheet.
you might also want to slow down the speed if you have a lot of turns and corners. I always use a speed of 8, but I’ve heard other shops say that their machines can’t handle that speed. Every machine is different and so you really have to just play with the settings to find the perfect one.
unfortunately waste is just part of getting the perfect settings. But one thing that might help is to make a sheet that has several circles or whatever shape you want and make the cut lines different colors so you can have your machine try all the different settings on one sheet and see which setting works the best.

Courses.StickySituationsCo.comRachelKeymasterSilhouette machines can act up even when they are new. I wouldn’t just use the settings from the video since you are using a different paper type and I know that removable matte is a thinner paper so the settings I use are probably going to be too much for that paper. I recommend testing out other settings because what works for one person may not work for someone else. Every machine is different and sometimes every blade can be different and require different settings.
I would recommend adjusting the settings and also calibrating your machine as this sometimes helps reset the machine. There are several videos on YouTube on how to calibrate. And sometimes you just have to turn the machine off and walk away for a little bit. They have a mind of their own and sometimes you just have to put them in time out. Lol.
I hope this helps!

Courses.StickySituationsCo.comRachelKeymasterI talked about this in the icons video. Basically SVG files will let you change the color of directly in Silhouette Studio (If you have the business edition. It may also be available in the Designer edition since they have changed things around.) PNG files you have to trace and then your traced icon with a color, so it’s more work and kind of a pain. I prefer SVG files, but like I said they can’t be used in the basic edition of Silhouette and you would have to upgrade to Business Edition in order to use them. You can still use PNG files. If you watch the Icons video, I show you the work around. 🙂
Here is the exact differences between the two. SVG is an image file format created specifically for designing two-dimensional vector and vector-raster graphics for websites. SVG supports animation, transparency, gradients, and is easily scalable without losing quality. PNG is a raster image format used for full-color images (mostly photos) in good quality.Sep 20, 2019 https://weblium.com/blog/svg-vs-png-what-is-the-difference/#:~:text=SVG%20is%20an%20image%20file,mostly%20photos)%20in%20good%20quality.

Courses.StickySituationsCo.comRachelKeymasterDid you try acting like you were going to print and do the drop down menu and select PDF? I don’t think you have to have Business Edition to do it this way. This is how I’ve been doing it for year even before I upgraded to Business Edition.

Courses.StickySituationsCo.comRachelKeymasterThey tend to change the height on the boxes back and forth every year, so most shops just keep it at 1.9. This works for a lot of other plans so it’s usually worth it to just keep them that size. But it’s completely up to you and how you want to size them.
I know that this is usually a problem between the colorful and the neutral. The neutral isn’t 1.9 because they removed the headers, but the colorful some years will be 1.9 and sometimes its not because they change the size of the headers. Lol.
