The photo file is too big, so it’s not showing up. It sounds like your machine needs to be calibrated and specifically it needs adjustments to the distance part of the calibration. I am planning on doing a whole video on calibration and releasing it next week. 🙂

Courses.StickySituationsCo.comRachelKeymasterWhen you are calibrating, are you also doing the distance adjustment? That is usually what the problem is when one part of the sheet is messing up. It’s still a calibration issue, but it is specific to the distance adjustment part of calibrating. I hope you get it figured out soon!

Courses.StickySituationsCo.comRachelKeymasterHmm… I’m honestly not sure on that one. To me they almost look like part of the design. I’ll try to do some research and see if I can figure out what is going on.

Courses.StickySituationsCo.comRachelKeymasterYou can leave them ungroup if you would like or you can group them. This step is completely up to you. I like to group everything when I want to move them around just so nothing moves out of place while I am trying to move stickers around, but I ungroup them once I have them in place because if I don’t when I go to change colors, it will change the whole image. So like if I have a white box in the middle of my half box, it will change the white box and the rest of the half box to a color. I hope that makes sense. 🙂

Courses.StickySituationsCo.comRachelKeymasterI had this happen one time when I was still using my laptop to do all my designing. The only thing that fixed it was completely wiping my computer and reformatting it and then Silhouette worked fine. I’m guessing mine was a computer issue and I just had to reset the computer’s brain.

Courses.StickySituationsCo.comRachelKeymasterI’ve had it work fine for part of the sheet and then start cutting off in the middle and for me it was always a calibration issue. I would still try to recalibrate and then if that doesn’t work contact Silhouette.

Courses.StickySituationsCo.comRachelKeymasterWhen this happens to me I have to recalibrate my machines. I will have a lesson on how to do this soon, but I have to wait until James can film it since he is the one who does that for me. LOL. I know there are some Youtube videos out there that show how to do this though.

Courses.StickySituationsCo.comRachelKeymasterSpectacle is just matte paper. It’s not weatherproof and not the premium matte that everyone talks about, it’s just a better version of regular matte in my opinion. I switched because the print quality on regular matte just looked very flat to me, but on spectacle it really popped. Premium or Weatherproof Matte has an even better print quality, but it also is a lot more expensive. Hopefully this helps!

Courses.StickySituationsCo.comRachelKeymasterThank you so much! I can do a more in depth video on these questions, but it really is going to be very different for everyone. Especially when it comes to how much it costs to start because it will depend on the printer, paper, cutting machine, and other stuff that each person chooses. But I will definitely do a more in depth video as soon as I finish up the rest of the course.

Courses.StickySituationsCo.comRachelKeymasterFinding the right cut settings is such a pain. Especially when every machine and blade is different. Some of my machines have to have different settings because they wont cut the same. LOL. I hope you get your settings figured out!

Courses.StickySituationsCo.comRachelKeymasterI get all of my scenes from clipart shops. Not all of them offer them, but some do and it is usually a separate listing from the digital papers and clipart. One really great shop is CoffeeDoodles. She offers scenes for most of her collections.

Courses.StickySituationsCo.comRachelKeymasterI found this on the silhouette blog.
The Draw A Line tool is great when you are needing to draw horizontal, vertical, or diagonal lines.
Simply:
- Select the Draw A Line tool
- Move your cursor to the design page
- Click to begin the line
- Click to end the line
Holding down Shift on your keyboard while drawing will force a straight vertical, horizontal, or 45-degree diagonal line from the starting point.
